Originally from Beijing, China, I come from a family that has practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for generations. At a young age, I was introduced to Taoist philosophy, which teaches that all living things should coexist in harmony with the universe. This foundational concept in TCM has been passed down through generations and sparked in me a lifelong interest in the relationship between human health, natural science, and traditional healing practices.
To pursue this passion, I studied Neuroscience and Nutritional Science at the University of Toronto, earning an Honours Bachelor of Science degree. I then worked as an assistant to a physician, both in family medicine and general surgery, where, in addition to general clinical support, I guided patients through diet and lifestyle counseling programs. These experiences deepened my understanding of how integrative approaches can help enhance patient outcomes and overall quality of life.
Motivated to expand my scope of practice, I then completed postgraduate studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences and the Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. There, I gained valuable knowledge and clinical experience in TCM diagnosis, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other complementary modalities. I also trained as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) to further support my integrative practice. In addition, I pursued advanced training in TCM Organ Massage, Craniosacral Therapy and Somato-Emotional Release at the Upledger Institute, and Visceral Manipulation at the Barral Institute.
My work with oncology patients began at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, where I rotated through geriatrics, palliative care, and oncology units to provide complementary treatments for complex conditions.
These experiences continue to shape my holistic and integrative approach to care.
My treatment philosophy emphasizes the vital connection between mind and body. I integrate Chinese Medicine, acupuncture, and manual therapies to support the balance of mental and physiological health. I have helped patients through all stages of cancer treatment, addressing conditions such as hot flashes, neuropathy, digestive disorders, lymphedema, anemia and low blood counts, menstrual disorders and treatment-induced menopause, hypertension, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and more.
I am an active member of the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO) and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). I also serve as an instructor in both Acupuncture and Advanced Traditional Chinese Medicine Diploma programs, helping to educate and mentor the next generation of practitioners.
In addition to my clinical and teaching work, I am actively involved in community outreach and public health research related to Traditional Chinese Medicine. I regularly deliver community talks and webinars through reputable non-profit organizations, some of which are supported by public health initiatives in Canada. I have also been a featured guest on Chinese-language radio programs focused on traditional Chinese medicine. These experiences allow me to connect with people from all walks of life, and they reflect my passion for making holistic, integrative care more accessible, empowering, and meaningful to the communities I serve.
